Multimedia Law refers in particular to the right of the new media. Sometimes this is also called internet law, online legal or even as „Cyberlaw“. All of these terms describe areas of the law which may be affected in relation to the medium of the Internet or mobile Internet issues.

From the technical definition of the term „multimedia“, so multimedia law is primarily the sum of the areas of law that are affected in the supply or use of integrative used interactive media.

So who ever will offer or use goods or services online or generaly speaking through one of the new media, inevitably comes across the multimedia rights.

As areas of outstanding importance, in recent years the issues of domain rights, liability for illegal content, warning letters, Digital Rights Management, unfair trade laws, e-commerce and Cybercrime have emerged.
